Heavy Slave debut Ep by minimalviolence

Drawing influence from techno, house, post punk, design, and literary texts, Heavy Slave itself originates from Anne Carson’s The Albertine Workout in which she asks “what makes a slave heavy…does she come from a heavy nation or adhere to a heavy philosophy of life?”. Consisting of seven exploratory tracks, the tape resists settling into one concise genre.
Polyrhythmic beats, swelling synth lines, occasional sparse, self-aware vocal accents, Heavy Slave is an investigation of time through the gestures of sound and its materiality.
